The EnerSys® PowerSafe® V Top Terminal battery range is specially designed for use in applications requiring the highest levels of safety and reliability. By meeting the most stringent international standards, PowerSafe V-TT batteries are recognized worldwide as an excellent solution for applications in the telecommunications . The reputation of PowerSafe V-TT batteries in terms of long service life, together with excellent performance, also makes them optimal for use with UPS systems .
PowerSafe V monoblocks and cells with superior terminals offer outstanding performance while occupying less space than conventional stationary batteries. The use of V-0 fire-retardant ABS plastic for thick-walled enclosures and lids ensures high mechanical strength with excellent safety features. PowerSafe V-TT batteries are designed according to gas recombination technology, which eliminates the need for regular water topping up by controlling the transformation of hydrogen and oxygen during charging. Oxygen developed at the positive plates propagates to the negative plates through microporous separators and, through a series of chemical reactions within the cell, recombines to form water. Each cell has its own safety valve that allows the controlled release of gas when pressure builds up within it.
Structure
- Positive plates designed to prolong service life and improve corrosion resistance
- Low-strength microporous fiberglass separators. Electrolyte is absorbed within this material, preventing acid spillage in case of accidental damage
- Containers and lids made of flame-retardant ABS material, highly resistant to shock and vibration
- Terminals with brass insert for maximum conductivity and with high-compression grommet for long life
- Self-adjusting pressure relief valves prevent atmospheric oxygen from entering
Installation and operation
- PowerSafe® V-TT cells and blocks are designed for installation in cabinets or on shelves. A separate battery room is not required
- Cells and blocks can be mounted in vertical or horizontal orientation
- Recommended trickle charge voltage: 2.280 Vpc at 20 °C or 2.265 Vpc at 25 °C
- Six months shelf life at 20 °C
- Low maintenance: no water topping up required
- Wide operating temperature range: -30 °C to +45 °C
